Second Place Challenger
Biography / Born as a Coordinator to the Jule family in Cosmic Era 54. Nothing about his father was known, however his mother, Ezalia Jule, was also a Coordinator, and a very beautiful and vivacious woman. It seems as though Ezalia was part of the PLANT Supreme Council for as long as Yzak was old enough to remember. Yzak was good at both horseback riding and shooting from an early age. In addition, he was so skilled at chess that he won the Junior Cup in Martius City. On the other hand, it seems he was not blessed with a talent for painting or singing. However, it seems as though he learned a little about musical instruments. Over the course of his studies, Yzak became fascinated with folklore, and at the same time he enjoyed collecting amulets. Perhaps because he was born and raised a Coordinator, he looked down upon Naturals, influenced with this belief by those in power.
In Cosmic Era 69, Yzak entered the military academy in anticipation of the outbreak of war between PLANT and the Earth Alliance, whose relations had deteriorated. His performance was very good, 1st place in shooting, second place in mobile suit combat, knife fighting, information gathering, 3rd in explosives processing, and second place in overall performance. His performance at the academy was reflected with proof of being elite, which was called "red clothes," but it is said that he and Athrun Zala who was in the lead at he time, had some conflicts after that, and that Yzak always regarded him as a rival. After graduating from the academy, Yzak was assigned to the Vesalius as part of the Creuset Team alongside Nicol Amarfi, Dearka Elthman, and Rusty Mackenzie in addition to Athrun. The Creuset Team had a high success rate when it came to operations and was a highly regarded combat unit by upper management, to which Miguel Ayman, called the Magic Bullet of Dusk, belonged.
Photo: A group photo taken after the academy's graduation ceremony. Although they were not yet assigned to the Creuset Team, Miguel who was two years their senior, was.
Mini Column: Yzak shot down a shuttle full of unarmed civilians with the Eighth Fleet while in pursuit of the Archangel, but when this incident was treated (in?) a game in later years, the ringleader of the incident became a different person. In addition, there was also an event where he meets his enemy, Kira Yamato, who apologized for his facial injury. (I have no idea what this is - perhaps something from a game?)
The Challenger Turned Warrior
January, Cosmic Era 71. Yzak, who was assigned to the Creuset Team, participated in the capture mission of the new prototype mobile suits belonging to the Earth Alliance, which had been transported to the neutral colony Heliopolis. Under the guidance of Commander Rau Le Creuset, Yzak's team successfully robbed the G units, becoming the pilot of Duel. However, the team did not only fail to take the Archangel and the Strike, but were forced to pursue them after the collapse of Heliopolis when an inquiry about the events was received. In the absence of the commander, Yzak and his three red-clothed comrades participated in the pursuit of the Archangel. However, the enemy's resistance was fierce, and the Archangel was once again lost in an encounter with the full strength of the 1st Fleet as well as a negotiation tactic using their diva, Lacus, as a hostage. In this fight, Yzak suffered a severe injury on his face. And though PLANT's technology can heal such scars without leaving any traces, Yzak intentionally keeps the scar and vows to take down the Archangel. However, during the Low Orbit Battle, he made the mistake of shooting down a shuttle carrying refugees who had tried to escape the battle, and thereafter participated in the pursuit of the Archangel many times, but made many mistakes and lost his comrades one after another.
May of the same year. Yzak, who participated in Operation Spit Break, also took part in the JOSH-A and Panama battles. During this battle, he witnessed the ugly fighting behavior of the ZAFT soldiers as well as the Earth Alliance, and began to question the war. Later, Yzak returned to space and was reunited with Dearka, who he had assume been lost, at Mendel, but he had been with the Three Ship Alliance. Dearka tells Yzak that after all of his experiences, he had decided to defect. This reunion was torn apart by the military's order to withdraw, but Yzak seemed to have understood Dearka's feelings.
September of the same year. Yzak, who was recognized for his achievements in battle thus far, was appointed as the commander of a newly established unit and formed the Jule Team. And although he was present for the Boaz defense, he participated in the second Yachin Due offense, and together with the Three Ship Alliance, prevented the Earth Force's nuclear missiles from hitting PLANT.
Photo: After the second Jachin Due offensive, Yzak was thinking of atoning for his sins as the youngest member of PLANT's temporary council.
Mini Column: Perhaps it's because Yzak was always out on the front lines, but many of his opponents were big names. He has fought against the "Mightiest Warrior" Kira Yamato and the "Endymion Falcon" Mwu La Fllaga during his battles with the Archangel, as well as the "Glittering Cursed Star J" Jean Carry in the battle of Panama. After joining the council, he was engaged in heated "battles" with other councilors and leaders.
Jule Team
The Jule Team, which was formed around the time of the Boaz offensive, was a hastily created unit led by Yzak and consisting of new recruits who had just graduated from the academy and have never fought on the front lines. The initial number of members was around fifteen, and three ZAFT reds. This unit was stationed at the military headquarters at the behest of Ezalia Jule, a member of PLANT's Supreme Council, and was deployed to the rear, so its capabilities were apparently not well known. After the war, Yzak left ZAFT, but when he returned to the military, the team was reunited. The Jule Team was assigned the Voltaire as its flagship, and the Rousseau as its consort. The Jule Team has begun crushing Junius Seven which had begun to fall toward Earth, and thereafter prevented a direct armed invasion of PLANT by the Earth forces that occurred when the war resumed. They also damaged the Requiem, which deflected its target of PLANT's capital, Aprilius.
Dearka Elthman: A young man who roomed with Yzak at the Academy and on the Creuset Team. In the midst of their pursuit of the Archangel, he was captured by the enemy, and later defected to the Three Ship Alliance. After the war, when he returned to PLANT, he was demoted but became one of Yzak's subordinates.
Shiho Hahnenfuss: A ZAFT red girl who came from the research institute. She was involved in the development of the YFX-200, but was assigned to the Jule Team and fought in the second battle of Jachin Due. After the war, she returned to the research institute, but soon returned to the Jule Team.
Isaac Mau: A young soldier who joined the Jule Team at the same time as Shiho. He also participated in the second battle of Jachin Due. After the war, he was put in charge and served as an observer of the Martian, Ergnes Brahe, who came to Earth, under the orders of Chairman Durandal.
Jule Team: CE 71: Formed around the time of the Boaz offensive, and had many new recruits due to the lack of veteran pilots from the beginning of the war. There were a little over a dozen soliders, and they not only piloted GuAIZ units, but also the CGUE Deep-Arms, which was an experimental unit.
Jule Team: CE 73: Two years later, the Jule Team's skill had grown so large that the number of mobile suit pilots had increased to span two fleets. The GuAIZ-R were the main mobile suits, but the ZAKU Warrior and other state-of-the-art machines were also actively deployed.
The Challenger Who Found the Truth
March, Cosmic Era 72. The Junius Treaty was signed between ZAFT and the Earth Alliance. Around this time, Yzak was court-martialed for the shooting down of a shuttle with civilians on board and for desertion in the previous war, but was able to avoid execution due to the defense of Gilbert Durandal and others. After the ceasefire, he served for a while as a councilor on PLANT's temporary council, but soon stepped down. Later, as a commander for ZAFT, he once again led the Jule Team. The following year, another war broke out in the Earth's sphere. The Break The World incident broke out. The Jule Team, led by Yzak, tried their hardest to crush Junius Seven, but were unable to do so, and had to witness an unprecedented catastrophe. In the following interception battle with the Earth Alliance near the mainland of PLANT, he was given orders on board the aircraft carrier Godwana and survived the crisis. After that, he continued to fight in space against the Earth Alliance to protect PLANT.
Cosmic Era, Year 74. The true mastermind behind the war was revealed to be LOGOS. Yzak detected some disturbing movements from the Earth Alliance, which had been triggered by LOGOS, and ended up diverting their aim from the capital Aprilius, however failed to stop the Requiem, resulting in the massacre of six colony's worth of inhabitants. Witnessing this tragedy, Yzak fought to stop the Requiem from firing again. Thanks to their and Minerva's efforts, the Earth Alliance forces holed up in the Arzachel base were temporarily silenced. Later, Yzak also participated in the Messiah offensive, but not finding any cause for this war, he sided with the Orb Emirate allied forces with Lacus and the Three Ships Alliance and with the Jule Team, helped to destroy the genocidal weapons Requiem and Neo Genesis. After the war, he and Lacus Clyne, who returned to PLANT at the request of her home country, seem to have assumed important positions within their ranks. At that time, he was working as an escort for Lacus, hoping for the prosperity of PLANT and working with other countries to restore stability to the world. His later activities will be revealed in the future.
Photo: Yzak returned to the military, but after two wars, he became a politician himself and tried to build a bright future for PLANT.
Mini Column: Yzak had been fighting with the GAT-X102 that he stole from the Earth Alliance, but according to some accounts, the ZGMF-X10A that was taken by the Three Ship Alliance was being prepared for him. The unit was stolen by Kira, and he was defeated by Kira at JOSH-A without much resistance.

“Who are you fighting for?”
“Fighting with hatred has no meaning.”
Pursuing the enemy Strike Gundam, the Duel continued as a ZAFT solider from the ground back into space, fighting numerous battles. The wound of Yzak, sitting in the cockpit, will heal, and the passion for revenge was, before long, finding a balance between the calm of a soldier who carried out his duty…
An unexpected reunion with his friend, Dearka, who he had thought died. Yzak rages against his former companion, who was fighting for a different cause… However, the quiet words of his friend cast a shadow of indelible anxiety in the heart of the berserker who had devoted himself to battle. What had he been fighting for? Should loyalty to the word of ZAFT that comes out of the mouth reflexively truly be protected?
Frustrated by the turmoil of war, Yzak feels that the walls that separate allies from enemies and good from evil are falling apart without a sound.
The new Gundam of the Earth Forces that emerged during the final, fierce battle that swallowed the thoughts and fates of all those involved in this unfortunate battle… what was the thought that came to Yzak’s chest when he layed his eyes on the form of that which was blindly driven only by his willingness to fight, just like he once was? Could the warrior be able to wake up from the dream of slaughter by breaking this mirror of the past that was attacking in the form of a bird? Only Yzak himself knows the answer.

A young Coordinator boy with the pride of a warrior etched into his scars
A proud ZAFT boy who affirmed the path of his friends
Dearka Elthman, a member of the Creuset Team who had gone missing in pursuit of the "legged ship," appeared before Yzak Jule as part of a third force belonging to neither ZAFT or the Earth Forces. Yzak denounces his friend who realized the reality of war and ceased blindly fighting at the command of his military as a traitor, but is asked a question in return. "Am I your 'enemy'?" Yzak is at a loss for words. As a ZAFT soldier, he should have shot Dearka as an 'enemy', but he could not declare his best friend as an 'enemy'. In addition, he is told that Athrun Zala and the pilot of the Strike had fought one another knowing the other was a friend, but their situation was one of 'enemies on the battlefield'. In the end, Dearka couldn't connect with him, and they meet once more on the battlefield. The action Yzak then took was to fight shoulder to shoulder with him. This was Yzak's true intention, who believed in his friend even though they were on different paths.

After the battle on Mendel, Yzak became commander of the Jule Team. As a result of being sent to the rear line of defense from his mother Ezalia Jule's consideration, it was fortunate that he was able to be the final defense against the Earth forces that broke through.
Although he questioned the distorted warfare, he remained in his position as a soldier in ZAFT. Nevertheless, he shared the desires of Dearka and Athrun to protect PLANT, despite their difficulties with ZAFT.

Yzak was an arrogant individual who never doubted the superiority of Coordinators. However, a bond was formed with his comrades in the war that began with their capture of the G units. SEED 02 - 13 - Dearka Elthman
A member of the Creuset Team. Roomed with Yzak at the academy, and since then they have become close friends. He became a captive of the Archangel, learned about the reality of the conflict, and started working with Kira.
"I'm truly happy that you're alive ... but! If this is what it looks like, I won't be able to forgive you!"
The pursuit of the "legged ship" becomes harsher, with the Strike killing Nicol Amarfi and Yzak taking out his feelings on Athrun. However, unexpectedly, Athrun also showed his anguish for Nicol's death which left Yzak speechless, and he felt a faint familiarity with the shared anger and grief. In the following battle, Dearka is taken prisoner by the enemy, and Athrun is wounded in a confrontation with the Strike. Yzak, who had toed the line of death together with his comrades, felt a bond with Athrun and though he verbally criticized him when he was assigned to the special forces, saw him off into space without any feelings of jealousy or rivalry. Thus, the pursuit of the "legged ship" ends, and Yzak continues to follow Rau Le Creuset. Then, upon his own return to space, Yzak has an unexpected reunion with Dearka on the Mendel Colony. He's happy that he's alive, but shocked and angered that he was no longer with ZAFT. However, Dearka was acting with a third force to stop ZAFT and the Earth Forces from killing one another, which throws a curve ball at him, and he wonders if he's doing the right thing. The situation progresses as both ZAFT and the Earth Forces turn weapons of mass destruction on each other. Dearka and the third group move in to stop the battle. Yzak also crosses the line of ZAFT ranks to fight alongside Dearka and the others.
Record - Commitment as a ZAFT Soldier
With the loss of Nicol and Dearka in pursuit of the "legged ship," and with Athrun returning to their homeland, the Zala Team is disbanded, and Yzak returns to Creuset alone. He joins Operation Spit Break and attacks Josh-A at the Alaska base - the headquarters of the Earth forces. When he encounters the Freedom there, it informs both friend and for alike of Alaska's self-destruction, so Yzak's life is also saved. Later during the invasion of Panama, he witness the slaughter of unarmed Earth force soldiers by his own countrymen, gradually growing uncomfortable with the war's distorted objectives. In wake of these events, Yzak's inner feelings come to the surface through the words of Dearka, who he meets once again, and Yzak wonders if ZAFT's war is really just. However, though he realizes that the purpose of the war was not to protect PLANT but to destroy the Naturals, he fought through it was a soldier of ZAFT.
Ability - Maturity as a Commander
In spite of his outstanding abilities, Yzak was never selected to lead his own team due to his arrogant nature and obsession with his personal pride. However, the pursuit of the Archangel taught him about the relationship with his comrades, and brought around great personal growth. It was the various experiences he gained through these trials that transformed Yzak, who was given his own personal squadron after the Eternal follow-up mission, into a man worthy of being a commander.
Photo: Due to his fierce battles with Strike, his skills as an MS pilot were further honed, and he defeated the Earth Force's new "G" unit, Forbidden. He was also able to take down the Raider.
A: A fierce personality that becomes blind to his surroundings when heated. He was born on August 8th, CE 54, under the sign of Leo, blood type O. At that time, his height was 175cm and his weight was 66kg.
B: Due to an injury sustained by the Strike, his pride as a warrior is severely damaged. He did not erase his scar, but left it as a reminder, and showed his determination and fierceness to never forget the humiliation he had suffered.
C: Clothes when infiltrating Morgenroete on Orb's Onogoro Island. While they succeeded on getting onto the island, they could only enter the first area due to the high security.
D: Injuries sustained by the Strike in battle near Orb. His usual stern expression disappeared when he greeted Athrun who had returned alive after destroying the Strike.
Photo Captions:
He was relieved when Athrun is rescued by Orb, and smiled softly as he is bluntly told that Athrun avenged their fallen comrades.
"You'll serve under me next time. Until then, don't die." Despite the stinging attitude in his words, he expresses concern for Athrun who is followed by the shadow of his defeat of the Strike.
"I just don't want to take orders from the military to kill all Naturals." When Yzak heard of Dearka's choice of a third path to take, he could not shoot the friend who he had been separated from, on the contrary, he is confronted with the necessity of battle.
When Yzak sees Dearka and the third force trying to protect PLANT from the Earth Force's nuclear attack, he feels deeply that they are still friends after all. After that, he fights alongside the third force against the Earth Forces, and even saves Dearka when he was attacked by friendly units.
After the second battle of Jachin Due, Yzak succeeds his mother and devotes himself to the restoration of PLANT as a member of the government. Beside him is his friend Dearka, who had returned to ZAFT.

Yzak Jule
Age: 17 years
Affiliation: ZAFT Creuset Team
Rank: ---
Birthplace: PLANT
Skills: MS handling, hand-to-hand combat
The Duel pilot fixated on the Strike
A red-uniformed member of the Creuset Team who relies on his superior abilities
Yzak Jule was born as an advanced species called a Coordinator, blessed with good qualities and a noble family background. These circumstances instilled in him an extraordinarily high pride as an elite. While pride is a catalyst for improving oneself, it also serves as a displeasure when one meets someone they cannot surpass. Yzak's opponent where his pride was concerned was Athrun Zala - a classmate of his at the academy, where he was the top student, leaving Yzak to be the second best. While Yzak's rivalry was fierce, his opponent also had his own competitors that shook up his pride.
After the capture of the "G" units at Heliopolis in CE 71, Yzak and the others pursued the one unit that was not captured, as well as its mothership, dubbed the "legged ship," and they were continuously beaten by the Strike. Yzak, who was too slow during their chase, was wounded and humiliated. Thus, his hostility was focused on the Strike, who had gave him his injury.
Photo Captions:
He is very conscious of Athrun, and this rivalry is manifested in his aggressive attitude. However, he showed more respect than the others when Athrun became the leader, he complained but he obeyed.
Yzak showed an extreme obsession with the Strike after he was injured. In order to never forget his humiliation, he dared not removed the scar on his face, and vowed to only after he defeated the Strike.
Character - Personality
He is a confident person backed by his abilities as a Coordinator, and his price and sense of honor are very high. This makes him appear like a boorish man, but in fact he is a compassionate man who cares for his friends. At the time of Nicol Amarfi's death, he unexpectedly showed tears of intense grief.
Normally, he has a calm and relaxed demeanor that suggests a good upbringing. However, Yzak is a passionate person who often showed his emotions and loses his temper.

SEED 02 - 11 Athrun Zala
Member of the Creuset Team and pilot of the Aegis. He was always at the top of the class in the academy, so Yzak considers him a rival. As a result, they often clash with one another.
"Damned Strike. This Assault Shroud will avenge this humiliation!"
After graduating from the academy with excellent grades, Yzak was bestowed the "red uniform" as a sign of being one of the elite, and was assigned to the prestigious Creuset Team. CE 71, Yzak went on a mission to steal the Earth Alliance's new "G" mobile weapon. Yzak infiltrated the Orb Union's neutral colony of Heliopolis, succeeding in seizing Duel, one of the "G" units, and became its exclusive pilot. The capture was not complete successful, as the "G" unit Strike and its mothership, the Archangel, escaped Heliopolis. The Creuset Team pursued them.
Yzak and his comrades attacked over and over with the "G" units they had stolen, but every time they were thwarted by the Strike, and each time Yzak's pride was damaged. Then, just before the Archangel joined the Alliance's 8th Fleet, Yzak engaged with the Strike and was wounded as his aircraft was defeated. At that time, he was unaware that Strike's pilot was a Coordinator, so to him, his pride could not forgive the fact that he lost to a Natural. To avenge his humiliation, he was determined to take down the Strike.
Yzak landed on Earth and once again, his pride was injured. He appealed to Creuset to pursue the Archangel, which was accepted, and a new team was formed. But Athrun, who had been in the same position as Yzak, was appointed as the leader of the team instead of Yzak, who was the one eager to continue their pursuit. While he once again shuddered with humiliation, he took it in stride, and as a member of the Zala team, his determination to defeat the Strike continued.
Record - Rivalry with Athrun Zala
Athrun was a classmate of his in the academy, and Yzak did not get along well with his serious earnest personality. In addition, his naturally strong pride was incompatible with Athrun, so he developed a sense of rivalry with him, who also excelled in his grades. However, he ended up being the runner-up and was never able to surpass Athrun, who was first place in the academy. Yzak's view of him as a rival is a one-way one. The conflicts that arose from this did not change when Yzak was assigned to the Creuset Team, so he often came into conflict with Athrun. But then came a turning point. Athurn, who was on equal footing with Yzak, was chosen to become their team leader, making Yzak his subordinate. Although Yzak's pride was greatly damaged by his very clear position, he still recognized Athrun's ability and accepted it deep down.
Ability - Pride as a red coat
"We're not wearing red for show!" Yzak's words conveyed his pride as a red coat. Yzak was proud of his status as a red, because one could not wear the red uniform without having the ability to show for it. Yzak's efforts to be an elite by not shying away from his origins is what made him a red coat of ZAFT.
Photo Caption:
Red uniform given to the top students after graduating from the academy. Yzak has a wide variety of abilities that put others to shame, including MS piloting, strategy planning, and hand-to-hand combat.
A: His well-trimmed hairstyle reveals a meticulous character with good upbringing. Surprisingly, he has a hobby of folklore, and bought amulets when he infiltrated Orb, which he later gave to his subordinates on the Jule Team.
B: ZAFT's red military uniform that only the elite are allowed to wear. Yzak himself has a self-consciousness of being elite, so the red coat seems to have satisfied his ego to a large extent.
C: He is a hot-blooded young man, and despite his appearance, he intensely expresses his emotions. He was so determined to defeat the Strike that he even showed defiance to his superior, Andrew Waltfeld.
D: His appearance is so beautiful that it could be called androgynous. His smile is lustrous, but his gaze has the sharpness of that of a bird of prey. His silver hair seems to have been inherited from his mother, Ezalia.
E: A ZAFT pilot suit. It is a sign of the elite, colored red much like their military uniform. The design is the same as the green colored suit, and there is no difference in the function of the pilot suit.

Dearka Elthman and Yzak are good friends who were roommates at the academy. Even after being assigned to the Creuset Team, Dearka remained with Yzak and was responsible for stopping him when he'd get too heated.
Due to Athrun's selfish actions, Yzak failed to take down the Strike. After returning to the ship, they question Athrun, but Nicol intervenes and Yzak backs down.
Yzak is wounded in a battle with the Strike. For a man of high pride, it was an unbearable humiliation to receive such an injury from one the very Naturals that he had looked down upon. In a fit of rage, he goes after the Archangel while his wounds are still healing.
Yzak, under the command of Waltfeld, was unhappy when he was not sent to the front line and vehemently protested.
It was humiliating to be under Athrun's command, but Yzak decided to suppress his anger and see what would happen.
More Info! Mother, who is a PLANT council member
The decisions of PLANT are made by the consensus of the Supreme Council. Yzak Jule's mother, Ezalia Jule was a member of this council. Ezalia did not harbor good feelings toward Naturals, and supported Patrick Zala who was fighting in an all-out war. She was an active member of the Zala faction. Ezalia, looking ahead to the post-war period, told her son "you'll have more to do after the war." After the ceasefire, Yzak was working as a member of the government, and may have acted in response to his mother's wish.
Photo Captions:
She treasured the chance encounter with her son, and for a brief moment her expression changed from that of a member of the council to that of a mother, who cared for Yzak.
During the second battle of Jachin Due, she was in command of the army in place of Chairman Zala. Then, fearing for her son's safety, arranged for the Jule Team to be sent to the rear.

"It's what they deserve, after claiming to be neutral."
Yzak Jule, son of Ezalia Jule who is a member of PLANT's Supreme Council, graduated from the ZAFT military academy with high honors and was assigned to the Creuset Team led by Rau Le Creuset. As part of that team, Yzak participated in the mission to capture a new type of MS at Heliopolis, a resource satellite of Orb, alongside Athrun Zala, Dearka Elthman, Nicol Amarfi, and others who were stations with them from the same military academy. Yzak succeeded in capturing the Duel Gundam, one of the 5 "G" units. Following that, they continued their mission to secure the one unit they had failed to capture, the Strike Gundam. Miguel Ayman, one member of [Yzak's] team, was ordered to sortie with his GiNN to destroy the remainder of the base. While Nicol was concerned about the possible collapse of Heliopolis upon hearing that, Yzak replied with tone of mockery implying that they were stupid. he blamed Orb for developing the MS in collusion with the Earth forces, while trying to maintain their claim of neutrality.

The Creuset Team, which had failed to capture the Strike in Heliopolis, were pursuing the Archangel, a new Earth Forces battleship that was equipped with the mobile suit. Yzak, piloting the Duel Gundam, chased the ship with Athrun, Nicol and Dearka. In the midst of this, it is discovered that Kira Yamato, the Strike's pilot, was a childhood friend of Athrun Zala, as well as a Coordinator. In place of Athrun, who was unable to take any harsh action against Kira, Yzak tries to defeat him. However, when they attacked the Archangel which had joined up with the Earth Force's 8th Fleet, the Duel was damaged in a fierce attack by Kira, who had manifested the SEED. In addition to this, Yzak himself was left with a large wound on his face. Yzak, his pride injured, returned to the front line with a scar that could have easily been surgically removed. This was an expression of Yzak's strong determination to never forget the humiliation of his defeat by the Strike.

Yzak was determined to defeat the Strike with the scar on his face. However, it was not possible to take him down in space, and he then descended to Earth.
CE 71/4/15~16 - Orb's waters - Episode 30
"Why did he have to die! In a place like this!"
Yzak's uphill battle continued. He struggled with the unfamiliar environment of the Earth alongside Dearka as part of the Waltfeld Team, and later became a subordinate to Athrun as part of the Zala Team formed under Creuset's orders, and spent his days unable to take the stage to defeat the Strike. Eventually, after infiltrating Orb, he launched an attack on the Archangel near Orb's waters. In this battle, they cornered the Archangel and the Strike, however Nicol, a member of the Zala Team, was attacked by the Strike and killed in battle. Yzak was often harsh to the kind-hearted Nicol, but as a comrade-in-arms, he still had strong feelings about his death and was angry at himself for not being able to save him. Yzak knew that it was futile, but he could not control his raging emotions.

Yzak had a hard time accepting Nicol's death. Although they did not get along well, it is certain that he considered Nicol an important ally.
CE 71/5/25 - Panama - Episode 37
"What's the point of killing an enemy that can't even move..."
In the battle to avenge Nicol on the Marshall Islands, Athrun was seriously injured and Dearka was taken prisoner by the Archangel. After that, Athrun returned to their homeland of PLANT, and Yzak was forced to stay on Earth. He participated in the battle of Panama, which was carried out to cut off the Earth Force's route to space, and succeeded, in destroying their mass driver, which was the final goal of the operation. Additionally, their special weapon, the gungnir showed its immense power during this battle, and disabled the Earth's Strike Dagger units one after another with an electromagnetic shockwave. ZAFT attacked the disabled MS and their pilots, as well as mercilessly killing the surrendering Earth soldiers. Yzak expressed disgust at these acts of slaughter, and said the above words. No matter how much he despised Naturals, that was a line he never crossed as a soldier.

Yzak understood the painful feelings of his fellow ZAFT soldiers who had suffered from the despicable actions of the Earth Forces. However, he did not agree with the slaughter.
CE 71/9/27 - Jachin Due - Episode 49
"Don't let a single shot get through to PLANT!"
The battle between ZAFT and the Earth Forces moved to space, as did Yzak. However, Dearka and Athrun had joined an independent force consisting of the Archangel, the Eternal and Kusanagi, leaving only Yzak in ZAFT. Yzak was reunited with Dearka and Athrun on the battlefield, and was inspired by them as he learned that they were fighting to stop the battle between ZAFT and the Earth Forces, which had turned into acts of complete destruction. Because his mother, Ezalia, was a member of PLANT's Supreme Council, Yzak did not want to leave ZAFT until the end. In the midst of this, he commanded the newly formed Jule Team, and focused his efforts solely on preventing a nuclear attack on his homeland of PLANT. His base, Boaz, was destroyed by a nuclear attack, but the attack on PLANT was successfully prevented thanks to the cooperation of the independent forces. Protecting his homeland - this was the only motivation that drove Yzak to the battlefield.

In the final battle, he collaborated with Dearka, who had joined the independent forces, and succeeded in destroying the Earth Force's Forbidden and Raider Gundams.

Yzak after the end of the war
After the end of the second battle of Jachin Due, Yzak returned to PLANT. There was a possibility that Yzak might have been accused of having joined the independent forces, but he was allowed to return to ZAFT thanks to Gilbert Durandal, the newly appointed chairman of PLANT's Supreme Council, and the Jule Team was able to remain intact (Dearka also joined him as a subordinate). Later, when Athrun, who had been hiding in Orb, returned to PLANT, Yzak formally requested that he return to ZAFT.

After visiting Nicol's grave with Dearka, Yzak directly told Athrun to "come back" when they met again.
Yzak, who became the commander of the Jule Team, also participated in the Break The World incident and the crushing of Junius seven.
Fighting with the independent forces again
The war between ZAFT and the Earth Forces intensified again, starting with the Break the World incident. Yzak and the others put their trust in Durandal's policy and watched the situation unfold, but it became clear that it was a war to introduce a human management policy called the Destiny Plan. Yzak had doubts with this plan, which determines a person'a occupation based on their genetic information. Yzak chose to fight together again with the Orb forces, which opposed the introduction of the plan.

The leader of the Clyne faction, Lacus Clyne was aboard the Eternal, and Yzak offered to protect them.
"Right now, there's also one person I want to punch!" He showed a mixture of annoyance and envy at Athrun, who had somehow ended up with the independent forces.

A new chapter of battle awaits the two elites as they return to ZAFT
Former MS pilots of the Creuset Team were reinstated after receiving a pardon from the Chairman
When the second battle of Jachin Due came to an end, two MS pilots, Yzak Jule and Dearka Elthman, left ZAFT and joined the Eternal along with their allied independent forces. After the war itself had ended, they did not stay with the independent forces and returned to PLANT, and the issue of how to deal with those who turned away from ZAFT, albeit temporarily, came up. In particular, it was expected that Dearka, who had been fighting alongside the Archangel since the Orb invasion, would be severely punished. However, due to the wishes of PLANT's new Chairman of the Supreme Council, Gilbert Durandal, Yzak was acquitted and Dearka was only stripped of his red uniform. In CE 73, Yzak returned to ZAFT after serving as a civil officer, and Dearka was assigned to the Jule Team led by his friend, Yzak.

Both Yzak and Dearka were prepared to face sever punishment. However, Durandal's defense of their contribution to the end of the war preserved their status.
Immediately after the "Break the World" incident, Athrun Zala returned to PLANT and the three were reunited. This was what prompted him to return to ZAFT.

DES-02-02 - ATHRUN ZALA
Former ZAFT soldier who went to Orb after the second battle of Jachin Due. In CE 73, he returned to PLANT and reunited with Yzak and Dearka.
"Think for yourselves a little! Or are your heads only there for decoration!?" (Yzak Jule)
After the "Break the World" incident, ZAFT and the Earth Forces were at war once again. As people who experienced the last war from the front lines, they want to do everything they can to stop it from spreading. On the other hand, they were angry at the Earth Forces who tried to destroy PLANT with nuclear missiles, and were ready to impose sanctions on the Earth. During the "Operation Ragnarok" invasion on Heaven's Base, where the Earth Force's headquarters were located, the Jule Team was in charge of operational command. Still, the battle between ZAFT and the Earth Forces showed no sign of ending, and both Yzak and Dearka were haunted by the nightmares of the previous war. As the fighting shifted into space, they were both on the front lines of battle. The Earth army, which had been exhausted by ZAFT's offensive, used their strategic weapon, Requiem to target their homeland of PLANT. However, the worst-case scenario of the destruction of PLANT's capital, Aprilius One, was averted when Yzak and Dearka took action in their MS. This brought ZAFT closer to victory, but then Durandal announced the "Destiny Plan," a human management policy based on one's genetic information. To impliment this, he used both the Neo Genesis and the Requiem, which they had taken from the Earth Forces. The two rebel against this and work together with the Archangel and the Eternal, who had intervened in the war. Under the belief of "we are fighting to end the war" by means of stopping the usage of weapons of mass destruction.
Record - Questioning Durandal
Yzak and Dearka turned against Durandal, to whom they had been indebted, and joined the independent forces formed by the Archangel, the Eternal, and Orb's forces. In addition to attacking the Earth's moon base with the Requiem, they both felt it to be mad to try to fire the Neo Genesis at Earth. To the both of them who had participated in the last war, the madness seemed to be similar to that of Patrick Zala and Muruta Azrael's, who had tried to eliminate each other with the Genesis and nuclear missiles. Even for the sake of PLANT, Yzak and Dearka could not allow the use of weapons that would wipe out innocent civilians. And they could not leave their friends Athrun, Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne to be mercilessly attacked.
Ability - Power of a Former Elite
Yzak and Dearka are both pilots who have been recognized for their outstanding abilities as former ZAFT "redcoats," and they have demonstrated their abilities on the front lines. Yzak has also shown his ability as a commander, leading the Jule Team as he did in the previous war. Even when he turned away from ZAFT, the Jule Team followed Yzak's direction without protest, so it appears his mentorship skills are also high.
Photo Caption:
Yzak was mainly in charge of operations on board the Voltaire. However, possessing the blood of a pilot, he had many opportunities to sortie in an MS.
A: During the previous war, Yzak kept a scar on his face as a sign of vengeance against Kira. However after the war, it seems that he had some reparation procedure done back on PLANT so the scar disappeared without a trace.
B: Dearka has a more mature aura than the previous war. His hair is almost the same as before, but a little longer down his neckline.
C: Yzak and Dearka escort Athrun under Durandal's orders. Yzak wears a light green suit, and Dearka a grey jacket.
Photo Captions:
When Athrun meets them again on PLANT, they ask him about his intentions about staying in Orb. Additionally, Yzak asks Athrun to return to ZAFT and support Durandal.
In the crushing operation of Junius Seven, both Yzak and Dearka sortied in their MSs. In addition to the breakup operation, they were engaged by both terrorist forces as well as Phantom Pain.
When Yzak hears the alert about the Neo Genesis' second firing, the contacts the Eternal commanded by Lacus, and passes on this information to her.
During Operation Ragnarok, Yzak led the MS drop operation. Dearka, who has a good understanding of him, supports his command.
After deciding to leave ZAFT's command, Yzak boarded his specialized GOUF Ignited and headed to destroy the Neo Genesis with Dearka and Shiho Hahnenfuss.
More Info - Jule Team
The Jule Team is a MS unit under Yzak's command, originally formed during the second battle of Jachin Due. After the end of the first war, Yzak became a civil servant and ceased that active duty. However, when Yzak returned to ZAFT, he returned to the front lines with the Nazca-class Voltaire as his flagship.

In addition to the Nazca-class ship Voltaire, which was set as the flagship, the Jule Team also operated the New Millennium series or aicraft such as the ZAKU Warrior and the ZAKU Phantom.
Shiho Hahnenfuss: A redcoat pilot who was part of the Jule Team since the first war. Like Dearka, she's a trusted subordinate to Yzak.

His and Her War [Yzak]: Click For Image
The proudest man on the Creuset Team, Yzak Jule. His overly noble pride is a double-edged sword that will come back to haunt him.
Too pure a thought turns a good, righteous young man into a killer
In a time of peace, the character of Yzak Jule would have been very different. He is a passionate man who loves his friends, hates to be wrong, and has a bit of a temper problem. The image of a friendly young man would be the first thing that comes to mind. Basically, Yzak is "a good guy." He and Athrun had many conflicts, but that was because he always an honest man who never played dirty. What the proud Yzak abhors most is "cowardice." That is why he would not allow himself to stay in a safe zone and went to war. And he expected the same level and determination and pride from his enemies. However, such pure thoughts can sometimes lead to a narrowing of one's vision. The shuttle that Yzak thought was full of "cowards running away from the battlefield" was in fact, an evacuation shuttle carrying civilians. Although he himself thought he was fighting with the pride of a duelist, the weapon in his hand is not the rapier of a medieval knight. It's a weapon of massacre that can bury a stranger without the blood touching one's hand. If Yzak remained oblivious to this, he would inevitably become Don Quixote. But he surely realized that it's not enough to be pure. As far as that type of "purity" goes, Azrael was a pure as it gets. Is Yzak a truly noble person who has the courage to change himself? This will be proven by his future actions.
Yzak Jule
It's very typical for Yzak to be born a prideful Leo. His mother, Ezalia, seems to have hoped that her son would exit the battlefield and become active in the same political field as her. But does Yzak have the personality strength to take on these demanded political tactics?
Age: 17 years
Birthdate: August 8th
Sign: Leo
Blood Type: O
Height: 175cm
Weight: 66kg
Relatives: Ezalia Jule (Mother) Father unknown
Dearka Elthman
He was Yzak's best friend, but he chose a different path from his comrade. It was his actions that forced Yzak's eyes open.
Shiho Hahnenfuss
We wonder if you remember her. In the latter half of the series, Shiho appeared in the background as part of Yzak's team. She appears as an ace pilot in [SEED MSV].

Connected Hearts [Yzak & Dearka]: Click For Image
Connected Hearts [Yzak & Dearka]
Yzak Jule
Yzak's hair is smooth and shiny, but his personality is rather rough. He's always yelling, and hates when he's not number one. In short, he may be the type of person who gets lonely when he's not the center of attention or in the spotlight. People with that sort well-bred upbringing tend to seek attention. They who want to be liked by others will become easily attached to others. That's why he's quite fond of people. He broke down when they lost Nicol. When he parted ways with Athrun in the previous work, he promised they'd meet again. He dutifully visits the graveyard. He reached his hand out to Athrun and told him to come home. Behind his gruffness, the real essence of his humanity comes through. To be human, to be straightforwardly honest, this could sometimes be seen as a drawback for a military commander. But the cool Dearka makes up for that. Yzak would surely say something like "Idiot! It'd be the same without him!" But in his heart, he's surely relying on him.
Dearka Elthman
Why is Dearka always around Yzak? It's a bit of a mystery. Miriallia seems to be just fine even if she's left alone, but when it comes to Yzak, one can't be sure how he'll act when you turn your eyes away from him, though it's not as if Dearka thought "well then, it looks like I'll have to stay with him," because he seems to be enjoying his role as Yzak's partner. It may have been fortunate for him that he defected during the last war and was condemned and demoted to a green uniform. If he had climbed the ranks enough, he would have been wearing white like Yzak and in a position to lead his own "Elthman Team." For a somewhat frivolous person like him, a white uniform would be a bit constricting. While the hot-blooded Yzak takes charge from the rear, the cool Dearka serves as head of the special attack force. So his current position is quite great (written as GUREITO, I must note this). Under Yzak, he can feel at ease, crack jokes, and has freedom. Whether he had any of that under Miri's thumb is something only he knows.

(This time) Black and White Combination Formed
"Is your blood pressure going up?"
"Shut up!"
Anyway, I Trust Him
Angry Yzak
Soothing Dearka
Despite Yzak's sourness being at MAX, to tell the truth he was happy to see Athrun again after all that time, but how he speaks comes out as the complete opposite. Dearka is the "translator" and sees the real feelings and intentions behind Yzak's cranky attitude. The relationship between the two can be described: comparing it to baseball, as a pitcher and catcher, if compared to the Shinsengumi, like Kondo and Hijitaka, and if compared to a family, husband who rules the roost and the older wife. In other words, a name combination that is recognized by both the person and others.
Fighting Together on the Jule Team
After the war, Dearka was demoted to a general soldier, but he was assigned to the Jule team, led by Yzak. During the Junius Seven Fall incident, both were dispatched in their mobile suits to crush it. Of the crew of the flagship Voltaire that Yzak heads, Dearka is the only person who can preach to the commander. A second in command who can ask questions to Yzak is someone worth respect.
A Comrade-In-Arms That Shares the Same Pain
Athrun, Yzak and Dearka, the same pain that the three share is Nicol's death. Their respect for Nicol is reflected in their salutes to his tombstone. Their hearts hold the same wish to avoid another sacrifice like Nicol. That's why Yzak and Dearka decided to stay in the ZAFT army to fight.
Two Best Friend! Yzak and Dearka Make a Great Duo!
The combination of Yzak and Dearka are building up a huge following that isn't afraid to take the stage. If anything, there are plenty of desires from Yzak fans.
(a bunch of quotes from fans here that are basically variations of "I wanna see more Yzak/scenes with Yzak and Dearka/Athrun")
It seems that Yzak losing his temper is important for the movie version! Not just for the duo, but for the trio.
(More of that)
If they're in red, does that mean the three of them before the war? That would mean Nicol is alive, too. ♥ If things were different, would Yzak be demoted, Dearka be promoted and Athrun return to ZAFT in a complicated situation?
Of course, there's a lot of encouragement for Dearka.
(MORE OF THAT)
Anyway, there are many fans who are charmed by the dialogue between Yzak and Dearka! Because Yzak and Dearka have a mutual trust/forgiveness in each other! It's nice to say what you want to say to each other. ♥
(and then there is that whole "Yzak Shower Scene" part which is just blurbs about other characters' shower scenes and I am also not doing that)
